404 Privacy has been selected for Cohort 2 of the Hawaiʻi WAVE Dual-Use Incubation Program. See the official release.
Hawaiʻi WAVE is operated by the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR) and funded by the Hawaiʻi Technology Development Corporation (HTDC).
The seven-month program supports technology companies exploring applications across commercial, government, and national-security markets. Aiming to provide companies the mentorship, customer-discovery support, market intelligence, that the Hawaiʻi ecosystem has to offer, as well as introductions to potential partners, customers, and government stakeholders.
For 404 Privacy, this program represents an opportunity to further develop the question that has guided our work since the beginning: what do organizations unintentionally reveal through ordinary online operations?
We will continue to develop technology, research, and training centered around device fingerprinting, digital attribution, passive data collection, and online linkability. Hawaiʻi WAVE's dual-use nature gives us the opportunity to explore how these capabilities may apply not only to commercial privacy and security, but to operational security (OPSEC) challenges facing organizations conducting sensitive research or working in environments where attribution creates risk.
Hawaiʻi's rich defense ecosystem will allow us to pressure-test our technology and business model with experienced mentors, better understand government and dual-use markets, identify potential pilot environments, and continue developing practical ways to measure and reduce passive digital exposure.
We are excited to strengthen 404 Privacy’s connection to Hawaiʻi’s technology ecosystem and to join a cohort of companies working across cybersecurity, robotics, advanced materials, sensing, manufacturing, and other emerging technologies.
Mahalo to PICHTR, HTDC, and the broader Hawaiʻi WAVE network for this opportunity.
